2011 Faith-Based & Healthcare Community Celebration
On June 5, 2011 BloodCenter of Wisconsin launched the Faith-Based Community Challenge to raise awareness and educate African Americans of the need for blood, marrow and organ/tissue donation.
The challenge created a friendly competition amongst African American churches to recruit the most members for blood, marrow registry and on-line registry sign up for organ and tissue donation.
BloodCenter of Wisconsin will host a celebration to honor African American Donorship on Thursday, October 27, 2011 from 5:00pm-7:00pm. All churches participating in the 2011 Faith-Based Community Challenge will be recognized at this celebration. The three winning churches of $1,000 scholarships each (to be awarded to an accredited institution of higher learning) will be announced.
Reception will begin at 5:00 p.m.
Program at 5:30 p.m.,
Networking opportunity at 6:30 p.m, immediately following the program.
Location: HeartLove Place 3229 N. Martin Luther King Drive, Milwaukee, WI.
Parking: available at Dr. Martin Luther Jr. King Elementary School 3275 N 3rd St.
